Spotlight on two brothers

Auguste and Louis Lumière are considered the fathers of the big screen. Known as the Lumière brothers, they’re the inventors of round perforation film. They played a key role in the history of film and photography through their invention of the cinematograph. In 1896 in Montreal, the two French inventors organized the first motion picture projection in Canada, allowing us to experience the silver screen for the very first time.
